SAMPLE OF LAWN FERTILIZATION PROGRAM FOR ST. AUGUSTINE
January and March; or February and April- Fertilizers 15-0-22 and/or 18-0-10 are applied to establish a stronger and healthier root system. These applications also enhance color, improves leaf size and overall growth. This is also our peak weed control time frame for your broadleaf weeds.

18-1-1 fertilizer with insecticide is used. 18-1-1
fertilizer continues to enhance color and healthy leaf growth during our rapid
growing season of summer; and continues
to improve color and growth to help with heat stress in late summer. The
insecticide is applied to treat surface feeding insects that are abundant in the
summer.
October or November – Fertilizer plus iron is used. The iron will green up the landscape for our fall and winter. This product will also give a feeding of nitrogen to the turf.
November or December – 10-2-20 fertilizer is applied in this month to strengthen and deepen the root system, which helps to minimize cool weather stress.
